Two Biggest Myths About Manifesting & How to Actually Get What You Want

Happy New Year! We’re a few weeks into 2023, how are you feeling? Are you excited about a fresh year? Did you come into 2023 guns-a-blazing ready to create what you want in the new year? Or are you taking things slow? I’ve noticed clients wanting to rest more as the year begins, wanting to be intentional and methodical about what they want to create. They’re giving themselves time to space without all the rush of prior years. Something feels more relaxed this year, there is a spaciousness that I haven’t witnessed in years past.

Regardless of how you’re feeling, whether you are wanting to jump right in or take your time; honor it, it’s all perfect. When you do decide you’re ready, here are the two biggest myths about manifesting and some actionable tips to actually get what you want this year.

Myth Number One: Manifesting is about wishing things into existence

One of the biggest misconceptions is that when you manifest something you just speak it into existence and poof one day it shows up. While I have had experiences like that, it’s important to remember that the Universe meets us at the point of action. To truly manifest what you want, you must bring a sense of gratitude for what you already have, let go of any attachment (when you are SO attached to what you want, the Universe reads that as you not having it and then gives you more of what you don’t want) and start taking intentional action.

Inspired action: Once you are clear on what you want to manifest, create an action plan and begin taking tiny steps towards bringing that vision to life. Remember to bring an attitude of gratitude each step of the way.

Myth Number Two: Manifesting is about doing it all on your own

The second thing that I see often is that a lot of people go through life thinking that they have to do it all on their own. Manifesting is truly about co-creating with God, the Universe, Your Higher Power (whatever that is for you). It’s about letting go of the idea that you have to have it all figured out. Let go of the idea that you’re even in control in the first place and allow yourself to be in co-creation. Be open to the magic of your life. Beyond the support of God or the Universe, it’s so important to look to those around you for help. Use your resources and your network to bring to life what you desire. Don’t be afraid to vocalize your desires and ask those around you for help along the way.

Inspired action: Set an intention to co-create your vision with your Higher Power before you put pen to paper around what you want. Ask for Spirit’s guidance to show you the way to bring it to life, be open to receiving guidance and always write “This or Something Better For the Highest Good” on your vision or vision boards so that you make yourself available to miracles that might not be in your awareness at the time you’re creating.

Excited to hear what you end up manifesting this year!

Big Love
